Usability Enhancement in EEG Foundation Models
Advancing the adaptability and practical usability of EEG foundation models for diverse clinical and computational applications.
At BASIL Lab (Biomedical AI for SIgnaLs Laboratory), we harness the power of Artificial Intelligence to decode and understand complex biomedical signals — from brain waves (EEG, fNIRS) to physiological biosignals — transforming raw neural data into clinical insights for early disease diagnosis, next-generation Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI), and fundamental discoveries in Cognitive Neuroscience.
Department of Biomedical Engineering
Pusan National University
Prof. Kyeonggu Lee received his B.S. (2019), M.S. (2021), and Ph.D. (2024) in Electronic & Biomedical Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, under the supervision of Prof. Chang-Hwan Im. Following his doctorate, he conducted postdoctoral research at Hanyang University (Sep. 2024 – Feb. 2026) and as a postdoctoral researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine & Université de Montréal (Mar. – Sep. 2026), under the supervision of Prof. Karim Jerbi and Prof. Anne Gallagher.
He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Pusan National University, where he leads BASIL Lab. His research spans deep learning for biomedical signals (EEG, fNIRS), brain-computer interfaces (BCI), AI-driven clinical diagnostics, and cognitive neuroscience.
We are looking for motivated graduate students and postdoctoral researchers passionate about AI, biomedical signals, and neurotechnology.
